Good Morning from Saint Michael

Yep, here it is Monday morning and all is well. It's a mere 1 degree out there but the pipes aren't frozen and the 4 wheeler started. What more could I ask for.

Saturday Patty and I took off on the Hondas for some tundra riding. We went out to check out the ice. Don't worry dad, it is quite frozen by now. We rode along the canal for a ways. We did find some new volcanos that we didn't know existed. Someday when it is warmer, we'll investigate those further. Sunday we put our carpenter skills to work. We are building a "shelter" for the 4 wheelers. We are having fun but who knows how it will turn out. We will take photos when we are done.

Many people have asked about the length of our daylight here. Just like everywhere, it is getting shorter each day. Right now the sun comes up about 10ish and is usually setting somewhere around 5-6ish. I do not find it depressing at all. I rather enjoy looking at the stars and those Northern Lights are showing from time to time. Another added bonus to this... I don't have to get up early to watch the beautiful sunrise.

School continues to go well. We have all survived our first go round of evaluations. Those dinners we make for our principal are beginning to pay off. (The blackmail tapes haven't hurt either.) Just kidding, Jeannie is a great lady and friend.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I believe there are a bunch of us getting together for dinner that night. Patty and I head to Nome on December 2nd. We have a SpEd Cadre there. Hopefully, we'll be able to get some Christmas shopping done there as well.

Until next time...
